Mobile network operator Lyca Mobile<\/a>, which in the UK is a virtual operator (MVNO) on EE<\/a>\u2019s network, has today committed to a price freeze on its Pay Monthly plans for the rest of 2026, which is said to be following in the footsteps of Tesco Mobile<\/a> and Spusu<\/a> by bucking the wider trend of traditional mobile contracts which feature mid-contract price rises.<\/p>\n

Typically, many broadband and mobile providers tend to apply mid-contract price rises each year, often in March and April, communicated in the contract, which Lyca said “piles pressure on consumers battling rising costs<\/em>“. But Lyca said their approach is “intended to stop mid-contract price rises and hidden fees within pay monthly plans<\/em>“.<\/p>\n
