{"id":45376,"date":"2026-04-01T16:16:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T15:16:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=45376"},"modified":"2026-04-01T16:16:02","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T15:16:02","slug":"tal-acquires-3000-uk-customers-from-talktalk-owned-origin-broadband","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2026\/04\/tal-acquires-3000-uk-customers-from-talktalk-owned-origin-broadband.html","title":{"rendered":"TAL Acquires 3,000 UK Customers from TalkTalk Owned Origin Broadband"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Horsham-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telecomacquisitions.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telecom Acquisitions Group<\/a> (TAL), which is a holding company for a number of familiar retail UK ISP brands (Home Telecom, Eclipse Broadband etc.), has announced that they\u2019ve just acquired another small batch of 3,000 broadband customers from the remaining part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">TalkTalk<\/a> owned provider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/originbb\" target=\"_blank\">Origin Broadband<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Just to recap. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">TalkTalk<\/a> transferred 95,000 customers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/originbb\" target=\"_blank\">Origin Broadband<\/a>, which is a trading name for Origin Communications and OB Telecom (owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">TalkTalk<\/a>), to <a href=\"https:\/\/uw.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Utility Warehouse<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/telecomplus.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telecom Plus<\/a>) last year as part of a new partnership (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/05\/talktalk-to-shift-95000-origin-broadband-uk-isp-customers-to-uw.html\">here<\/a>). At the end of last year they also transferred a small number (850) of Origin&#8217;s remaining residential broadband customers on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a>-based lines to TAL \/ Home Telecom (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/12\/tal-acquires-some-uk-customers-from-talktalk-owned-origin-broadband.html\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> According to TAL\u2019s latest company accounts to February 2025 (<a href=\"https:\/\/find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk\/company\/12101755\/filing-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>), the company is home to 60,000 customers (now 63k) and grew turnover to \u00a326.6m (2024: \u00a318.2m). But gross profit fell to \u00a34.3m (2024: \u00a37.3m) and EBITDA declined to \u00a32.1m (2024: \u00a32.5m). The \u201c<em>ultimate controlling party<\/em>\u201d of TAL is TalkTalk Holdings Limited.<\/div>\n<p>The latest addition of 3,000 customers from the Origin Group to TAL appears to represent another batch of those who are connected to the underlying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a> network. As before, TAL states that the transferred customers will &#8220;<em>continue to enjoy the same prices, terms and conditions and connectivity they are accustomed to, with the added benefit of being supported by Home Telecom&#8217;s dedicated UK-based sales and customer service teams<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Sasha Barnett, COO of Home Telecom, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are so proud to have the opportunity to support these customers and welcome them into our happy family of 63,000 customers.
