The provider has since launched a retail ISP called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digi.uk\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DIGI<\/a> and promises speeds of 10Gbps for just \u00a325. But the rollout plan remains unclear.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Regular readers will know that WhyFibre has been around and building a <strong>Fibre-to-the-Premises<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a>) broadband network in England for several years (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2021\/10\/new-uk-isp-whyfibre-plan-fttp-broadband-for-south-england.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/02\/signs-of-life-as-uk-broadband-altnet-whyfibre-spotted-building-fttp.html\">here<\/a>). But the operator\u2019s website remains somewhat of a holding page and, until now, no retail ISP has ever emerged to offer services over their network. The company\u2019s most recent micro accounts also suggested only limited activity (<a href=\"https:\/\/find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk\/company\/13486375\/filing-history\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>PICTURED:<\/strong> The latest May 2026 map of Digi \/ WhyFibre&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a> networking build activity, as produced by Andrew Ferguson @ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/thinkbroadband\" target=\"_blank\">Thinkbroadband<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p>However, back in 2025 some of ISPreview\u2019s readers noticed that a business called <strong>Fiber One<\/strong> (American spelling) had been spotted building a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a> network in the Hertfordshire (England) town of <strong>Letchworth<\/strong>, which when challenged said they were working on behalf of WhyFibre. The contractor appeared to be laying fresh fibre via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/openreach\" target=\"_blank\">Openreach<\/a>\u2019s existing cable ducts (PIA).<\/p>\n<p>Similar activity was later spotted in locations such Luton, St Albans, Dacorum, Stevenage, Watford, Waltham Cross and Welwyn Hatfield, among other places &#8211; a fair bit of which includes overbuild with other gigabit-capable broadband networks, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/cityfibre\" target=\"_blank\">CityFibre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to recent data from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/pointtopic\" target=\"_blank\">Point Topic<\/a>&#8217;s roadworks database (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.point-topic.com\/post\/whyfibre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>), Whyfibre Limited as a street-works promoter has now been spotted working across 2,274 postcodes (over 53,000 premises) since October 2024, with around 10,000 permit events filed to date.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all this activity, the operator&#8217;s network and retail plans have remained shrouded in mystery. But that recently started to change after a new retail ISP called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digi.uk\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DIGI<\/a> surfaced in the UK, associated to the same group of companies, alongside a claim that its services were &#8220;<em>now available in the UK!<\/em>&#8220;. More recently one of ISPreview&#8217;s readers (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/talk\/threads\/isp-named-whyfibre-has-anyone-heard-of-them.43135\/page-5#post-458522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jpm<\/a>) spotted that they&#8217;d finally put some prices on their website.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>DIGI&#8217;s Broadband Packages<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fiber 1Gbps &#8211; \u00a315 \/ month<\/p>\n<p>Fiber 2.5 Gbps &#8211; \u00a320 \/ month<\/p>\n<p>Fiber 10 Gbps &#8211; \u00a325 \/ month<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, leaving aside the mistaken use of &#8220;<em>Fiber<\/em>&#8221; instead of &#8220;<em>Fibre<\/em>&#8221; on their package names, the website doesn&#8217;t currently include much detail what other features their packages might include (e.g. install costs, bundled router, symmetric\/asymmetric speeds, IPv6 support, CGNAT, post-contract prices?). In addition, we&#8217;ve yet to find any postcodes within DIGI&#8217;s supposed patch of network coverage that will actually return a positive result when run through their availability checker.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that they are now showing prices does at least suggest that an official launch may be imminent and those are certainly some incredibly aggressive price points (possibly reflective of a loss leading strategy to take customers away from rivals as quickly as possible). Overall, this is a bold but high-risk strategy to be adopting in the current market. Much will also depend on their ability to sustain a decent level of support, as well as service quality, alongside such pricing.<\/p>\n<p>ISPreview has attempted to contact DIGI in the hope of receiving a useful update and will report back if one surfaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE 6:41am<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After more checking we did find some postcodes around Stevenage that returned a positive result via DIGI&#8217;s checker (e.g. SG2 9XS).
