Work is now underway in St Fergus, Inchmarlo, Kincardine O\u2019Neil, Collieston and Newburgh, as well as Kingswells.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Just to recap. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/gofibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">GoFibre<\/a>\u2019s Project Gigabit contract for <strong>North East Scotland<\/strong>, which was first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/07\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-north-east-scotland.html\">awarded back in July 2025<\/a> and began its build phase in February 2026, is worth \u00a3105m (public subsidy) and aims for their network coverage to reach a total of around 63,000 premises across hard-to-reach rural areas (&#8220;<em>at least<\/em>&#8221; 100,000 premises if you include their existing commercial build).<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/gofibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">GoFibre<\/a> is supported by private funding of <strong>\u00a3289m<\/strong> from Gresham House, Hamburg Commercial Bank and the SNIB (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/01\/borderlink-get-gbp164m-for-full-fibre-rollout-in-north-england-and-scotland.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/08\/gofibre-get-125m-funding-boost-to-support-scotland-gigabit-broadband-rollout.html\">here<\/a>). The provider has covered <strong>135,000 premises<\/strong> (RFS) across over 30 \u201c<em>local areas<\/em>\u201d in rural Scotland and Northern England \u2013 they\u2019re also attached to<strong> \u00a3145m<\/strong> (public subsidy) of Project Gigabit contracts (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/09\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-teesdale.html\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/10\/gofibre-win-north-northumberland-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract.html\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/02\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-scottish-borders.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/07\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-north-east-scotland.html\">here<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>The first connections under this deployment started to go live across locations such as Ezdell, Inverbervie, Longforgan, Montrose, Dunkeld, Bankfoot, Newtonhill, Portlethen, Alyth and Coupar Angus earlier this year. The build is now underway in St Fergus, Inchmarlo, Kincardine O\u2019Neil, Collieston and Newburgh in Aberdeenshire and in the Aberdeen suburb and village of Kingswells.<\/p>\n<p>Some 1,000 homes and businesses across several new areas of Aberdeenshire are set to get access to lightning-fast full fibre broadband for the first time as a result of the latest build expansion.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Andy Hepburn, COO of GoFibre, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s exciting to see our North East Scotland network build expanding into more towns and villages in new parts of Aberdeenshire, as out top-notch teams continue to enable more homes and businesses to benefit from our ultra-reliable, lightning-fast full-fibre broadband.<\/p>\n<p>As well as helping to bridge the digital divide, GoFibre is also committed to providing industry-leading customer service, with a team based in Scotland, and investing in Aberdeenshire charities, cultural and sports groups, through our social impact work to create lasting change.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>New customers can expect to pay from just \u00a322.50 per month for speeds of 150Mbps (symmetric) on a 24-month minimum term, which rises to \u00a334.50 for their top 1000Mbps tier. Take note that \u00a3200 of Switching Credit is available for those looking to migrate while still stuck in an existing contract with another ISP. But monthly prices also increase by \u00a33.50 each December (previously it was +\u00a33).<\/p>\n<p>The provider currently expects to deploy their new full fibre based broadband network to reach a UK footprint of 250,000 premises by around mid-2028, and they were home to a total of around 15,000 customers as of June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>GoFibre&#8217;s most recent annual results to the end of 2025 showed rising revenues of \u00a35.63m (2024: \u00a32.72m), although they also made an operating loss of \u00a39.24m for the year (2024: \u00a36.12m). The company had an average monthly number of employees (inc.
