In addition, the network has just expanded to include Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham and Nottingham.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hyeroptic initially focused the first stage of their life on rolling out services to large buildings (e.g. Multi-Dwelling Units) in London, but since the start of 2014 they&#8217;ve begun to expand into a further seven cities across the United Kingdom (Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Reading and Glasgow) and most of that is thanks to last year\u2019s investment of <strong>\u00a350 million<\/strong> by<strong> Quantum Strategic Partners <\/strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2013\/05\/hyperoptic-secure-gbp50m-to-expand-uk-1gbps-fibre-broadband-coverage.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #227ab4;\">here<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The ever growing pace of development means that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/hyperopticfibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Hyperoptic<\/a> are now starting to make good progress towards their first goal of covering around\u00a0<strong>80,000 premises<\/strong> (premises passed) by the end of 2014 and <strong>500,000<\/strong> by <strong>2018<\/strong>. As a result the operator has confirmed that their network is now almost within reach of around <strong>75,000 premises<\/strong> (at 480 sites), which is up sharply from 35,000 in February 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In other words the pace of deployment has dramatically improved and they now look set to achieve their first target, especially with today&#8217;s addition of Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham and Nottingham to their roll-out plans (a total of <strong>12 cities<\/strong> across the United Kingdom).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Dana Tobak, Managing Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/hyperopticfibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Hyperoptic<\/a>, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Our mission is to provide a true fibre infrastructure, which empowers residents to future-proof their online lives. Cutting-edge technology is the foundation for growth and innovation and today\u2019s announcement is fantastic news for Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham and Nottingham<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The ISP notes that its also developed partnerships with &#8220;forward-thinking&#8221; <strong>property developers<\/strong>, including Barratt London, St George and Regis Group plc, which is helping to fuel the rapid expansion of Hyperoptic&#8217;s footprint across the UK.
