{"id":9726,"date":"2015-07-21T07:41:45","date_gmt":"2015-07-21T06:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=9726"},"modified":"2015-07-21T09:08:11","modified_gmt":"2015-07-21T08:08:11","slug":"uk-isp-xilo-revives-broadband-service-under-uno-branding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/07\/uk-isp-xilo-revives-broadband-service-under-uno-branding.html","title":{"rendered":"UK ISP XILO Revives Broadband Service Under Uno Branding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Internet and hosting provider XILO, which a short while back removed the fixed line broadband and phone services from their website, has revived the related products under their long-in-development <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/isp_list\/ISP_Detail_Fixed_Line_Broadband.php?Uno-(XILO)-225\" target=\"_blank\">Uno<\/a> branding.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The ISP has been fairly well rated over the past few years and during that time they&#8217;ve also been busy quietly beavering away in the background on <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-99 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/uno\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"uno\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.uno.uk\">Uno<\/a>, which is a dedicated portal for their Internet access services. Now after all that time they&#8217;ve finally launched it.<\/p>\n<p>As before <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-99 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/uno\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"uno\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.uno.uk\">Uno<\/a>&#8217;s <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-121 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/adsl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"digital subscriber line\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/broadband_DSL.php\">ADSL<\/a> \/\u00a0ADSL2+\u00a0services are supplied via two <strong>Unbundled Local Loop<\/strong> (<a class=\"shortlink shortlink-108 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/llu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"llu\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/jargon\/jargon_detail.php?LLU---Local-Loop-Unbundling-53\">LLU<\/a>) networks, one provided by <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-90\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"vodafone\">Vodafone<\/a> and the other via <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-59\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"talktalk\">TalkTalk<\/a>; these are not to be confused with each ISPs respective consumer services (wholesale suppliers are often a very different proposition).<\/p>\n<p>Outside of <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-108 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/llu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"llu\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/jargon\/jargon_detail.php?LLU---Local-Loop-Unbundling-53\">LLU<\/a> coverage, Uno rely on BTWholesale&#8217;s national telecoms network like many other ISPs and they also offer <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-120 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"fttc\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/broadband_cable.php\">FTTC<\/a> &#8220;<em>fibre broadband<\/em>&#8221; services. However their business<strong> Ethernet First Mile<\/strong> (EFM) solutions can also utilise <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-65\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"virgin media\">Virgin Media<\/a>&#8217;s network, as well as that of the above operators.<\/p>\n<p>Under XILO this combination of suppliers resulted in some confusion between the different package choices, although Uno appears to have simplified things.
