Good migration from Talk Talk. Not much in the way of correspondence before the migration day but sms messages to say phone had moved over then, 2 hours later, that the VDSL had switched.

Can't vouch for the router as I'm using my own. Speed is the same, give or take, as Talk Talk. Price is ok especially if you factor in Quidco and the £75 JL voucher - we need a new microwave anyway so that's fine. Nice to be able to use the landline a bit more now.

Would have moved to Uno but they currently don't do migrations from Talk Talk.

There is a big issue with them insisting on a new line when you already have one. I even got them to call me on the land line to prove it! It probably doesn't affect everyone but, for me, it made the online checker incorrect: using my existing land line number gave a "can't get Talk Talk fibre" message when I can. I ended up just putting in the postcode.

I'm currently with First Utility who, like the Post Office, actually use Talk Talk to provide the service!

In short, it looks like I'm having to get a new line when I don't need one (and probably lose the number I've had for 15 years). Promised it won't cost me anything.

They need to update their database or just query BTO directly to check if there is an existing line.

UPDATE 7/3/19 Engineer's appointment was changed from the 8th to the 14th. Waste of taking a day off work. Contact TT 4 times to say I can't make the 14th(and shouldn't need an engineer anyway - just a stop start on the line). Now without broadband for at least a week.

UPDATE 29/03/19
Engineer Seemingly did't do much except test the line with a gadget. DLM has slowly upped my speed over the last fortnight. The router is good but they've stripped the firmware to the basics. Although it is easy to configure, there are still a few bugs (forgetting named devices, changing reserved IP address range etc)

UPDATE

Came back to Uno after using them from ADSL years ago (at the time they couldn't do FTTC at my address). Had First Utility (Shell), TT and John Lewis (Plusnet) VDSL since then.

Easy switch over from JL - no downtime at all. Get a higher sync than ever before and it has been rock solid since the switch. The website is overdue a overhaul (obviously doesn't affect the service) but other than that delighted with Uno (using Zen wholesale).

NB They no longer provide free web hosting and you need to be with OR to switch ie no moving from Talk Talk, Shell etc

I've been using Uno Broadband Talk Surf (ADSL) for the past 16 months. The only reason I'm leaving is that Talk Fibre isn't available where I live.

Pros: excellent support, good value (~£23/month), cheap PAYG calls, used TT Business so I could tweak the SNR on my router to get 17Mbps, free web hosting with PHP and a MySql database.

Cons: website looks a bit dated - could do with being made responsive (not that it affects the service) and Talk Fibre coverage is limited.

Was very happy with Uno's ADSL but needed more speed with the family using up a lot of bandwidth. No "Talk Fibre" here so looked around at options. Narrowed it down to First Utility or Zen (who had a good offer a few weeks ago) or Cloudscape. The Quidco cash back, savings with their gas and electric and the promise of no increases during the contract swung it.

I am getting very close to the expected 38Mbps / 10Mbps. I'm using my own router (PPPOE, VLAN ID 101, 802.1p 1, login and password from calling 01926328002). Theirs is a Technicolor 588v2.

First Utility's broadband is based off TalkTalk wholesale.
