BT has confirmed that a further five communities in Cornwall have been connected to superfast broadband as part of the wider £132 Million public and private sector partnership project, which aims to connect at least 80% (ideally 90%) of the regions homes and businesses by the end of 2014.

BT has announced that the pilot phase of its UK superfast broadband speed upgrade, which will push its FTTC ( e.g. BT-Infinity ) internet download speeds from up to 40Mbps to a maximum of 80Mbps, will officially begin in early February 2012.
