MarkMonitor has revealed the "illegal traffic levels" on 43 file-sharing sites and found that they generated more than 53bn visits each year. Rapidshare.com, Megavideo.com and Megaupload.com were the largest and have been branded "Digital Piracy" heavens.

A UK public sector controlled ISP, NYnet, has revealed that 150 residents and businesses in Farndale, Blakey, Bransdale, Rudland, Beadlam Rigg and East Moors (North Yorkshire) will soon benefit from a new next generation fibre optic and wireless based broadband connection.

The boss of Fluidata, a UK based business ISP has today slammed BT for its huge delays in installing new telephone lines and broadband connections around the country, which appear to stem from staff shortages and the recent adverse weather conditions.

The European Internet Services Providers Association (EuroISPA) has called upon the European Parliament to oppose internet website blocking (censorship) filters for tackling child abuse content. Instead the group believes that removing such data at its source is the only truly effective solution.

Mobile and internet provider Orange UK has launched a new Price Promise for its Home Broadband and Phone bundle customers today. The operator pledges to automatically lower its monthly subscription should it offer any plans at a lower price in the future.

Mobile operator T-Mobile UK will, from 1st February 2011, cut its Mobile Broadband Fair Usage Policy (FUP) for Smartphone users to just 500MB (0.5 GigaByte's). Customers who go over that level will still be able to email and browse websites, although video viewing and downloads won't work.
