sky cant handle 8mb

i signed up for sky after lookin here seemed ok they agreed to give me a trial for 3 months @ their £10 and the phone line sounded great waited for the ten days line trainin
but it seems that fri-sat-sun i get no more than 1mb down to 512kb connection im using one of their router the dark grey one
so ive requested a mac code they then turn round and say i'll be billed for the 12 months of broadband (i think not) according to them u only get trial usage for 8 days ..............hmmmm it takes 10 days to train ya line
i hardly d/led anything 4.7 gig in a month all i done
so im off to somewhere else

Did you get the 3 months trial in writing?
Did you read the small print in the T&C?
That is how large companies like Sky, BT and VM do this get you to sign contract which is always 12months or more, I would never recommend signing any lengthy contract then to add insult to injury BT expect you to renew long contracts when one finishes instead of moving you to a monthly one.

ummm nope i did ask for it in writin but u know sky

forgot to say they even charging me extra for hire services for the exchange so im payin £17 for 2meg supposedly 8meg

I wasn't aware that Sky's unbundled broadband services needed line training like the BT based MAX solution, previously I had thought that they assigned a specific profile based on a test of your line and leave it at that. Several LLU based ISPs seem to do this, which has it's pros and cons.

Which broadband and voice package options did you choose? I guess you can't expect wonders for £10 per month. On the other hand if you're on their 'Connect' (BT based) option then poor performance has been reported on that one before and it does need line training.

well i got me mac code
everyday from 6pm till 8am i get 512k speeds
weekend friday -sunday i get 512k
i know its not my computer because the pc upstairs is same speeds
i wish id never changed from fmn only i went on price which seemed tempting
