Help needed please: Huawei B353 4g router - sudden problems

I am a complete non-tekkie so I am hoping someone might be able to help please.
We've had a above router for about 6 months and it's been great. But 2 days ago, the performance seemed to drop but then recovered but now both laptops in the house could no longer connect to some pages. We get the message ERR_timed_out and at the bottom of the page 'resolving DNS entries' or 'establishing a secure connection'. Many pages still work ok but others that worked fine a few days ago, now don't. If we try to connect to the same pages on our phones using 4G they work fine so it is definitely our router.
Have repeatedly tried to contact 3 via phone or chat and get stuck in a circular, pass around which is so frustrating.

We've deleted all our cache / cookies, have reset the router to factory settings etc but no change. It seems something has changed in the past 2 days.

Any suggestions please? thank you

The same thing happened to my grandparents a few months ago.
It’s all to do with Three - nothing wrong at your end. None of your settings have suddenly gone awry.

Thank you - good to know. Did your grandparents manage to get it sorted / even get through to Three to have it investigated?

We have a similar thing with Vodafone. We have one of their Huawei 4G (and 5G one day) routers. It is dropping out quite often now. It used not to be a problem most of the time, suddenly it's flakey as hell which is maddening.

Hi, you could try a couple of different things. First, try and do a reset of the router (not just a restart). You could either do this from the router settings page or there might be a physical button on the router. Or you could try adding a different DNS in the settings. Try something like Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 and see if that helps.
You could also try using a VPN service to route your traffic through their servers and that has usually worked well for me in the past with Three’s 4g routers.

Try going into the router settings

http://192.168.8.1/html/index.html#home

and add the APN in network settings three.co.uk, username is admin, leave the password blank. select "set as default"
then click save, This will resolve your issue.

It normally connects to the 3internet APN, but this is problematic at present for a lot of users nationally.

I've also seen from @dabigm try setting your MTU in the APN settings to 1400. Go to 192.168.8.1, log in, go to netowork settings, it should be there.
