Three and lack of connection to PS4

No fibre or copper line connection & have been with Three (unlimited data sim) 13 months. Not so bad with normally rock solid Band 20 4G signal. Download normally 27-32 mb. Sim is in a Huawei 612. Strong set of values on LTE Inspecteur (currently RSRP 80, RSSI 63, RSRQ -3, SINR 19) .

Had issues a while back on PCs and laptops like others on Three with pages timing out etc. (though that seemed to have improved of late). Ebay and other pages not opening unless VPN used but it's when used they appear instantly. Often use VPN on the computers.

Yesterday could not connect PS4 to the net...first time ever. It's normally connected via a dedicated AV1000 Gigabit TP-link powerline pair.
So I tried wi-fi connection to the Huawei.. no good (it always worked before).
Bit baffled so tried the Plusnet (EE) sim in iPhone as a hotspot and connected via wi-fi ..worked flawlessly. (?) Trouble is I only have 4gb of data month (which I rarely use).

The Three signal comes from an EE mast not far away (rural) so the only one in the frame.

Any thoughts?

thanks kommando828 ..didn't realise that. Strange..works fine today as normal.

Everything was weird over the weekend though..some websites not opening too. Expect they were making some changes..often seems to be the case at weekends?

I'm used to having to use my vpn to speed things up on some websites but I wish I could put it on the Huawei b612 router. So far no joy..issues around tunnel password..guides say leave blank..but if I do nada. My vpn doesn't talk about thatin their FAQ..e.g is with an Asus router. Maybe I'll try a chat to them. Thanks for the info anyway.

Use the 3internet APN on your router. No CGNAT, port forwarding and a public IP.

tahnks bubblesthefish..I have this now. Just a query..do you mean that if I have that APN i'll have no CGNAT, portforwarding and will have a public ip..or are these other settings I have to change?

When you change the APN to 3interent, CGNAT is disabled and you will be assigned a public IP by the network. If you want to use port forwarding you can but you have to set it up yourself. Port forwarding is usually blocked on the three.co.uk APN.
