Three's Network status checker

Since Tuesday I've had Three's network status checker telling me the following:

"We’re fixing an issue with our network in this area

We’re sorry for any disruption you experience. Our engineers are working on masts nearby, which means the rest of our network is handling more traffic than usual.
Updates on our work will be posted here. We’re working as fast as we can to build a better, stronger network in your area.
You can find more help and advice below. And you can read more about our Big Network Build here.
Last updated on 8:15 am 15 January 2021."

Every 30 minutes it just changes the time stamp at the bottom, but it doesn't appear they're really doing anything. And whilst I've had just the usual poor speeds I associate with my severely overloaded mast, there's been no outages.

On the "Big network build" info it actually says "Our 4G network enhancements will improve call quality and increase speeds by up to 130% in certain locations."

Touch over-optimistic as ever eh! Still "if" they are working on my local mast, I live in hope.

I think the 3 checker automatically just adds whatever message it likes to make you think something is actually happening. I've had this on and off for a year. Nothing ever actually changes.

If its a shared EE/Three mast then use the EE checker, more info and updated more frequently. It's likely your mast shares it's internet link with several other local masts.

That's what I do for mine. Except for me it's the complete opposite! Three's checker completely missed out problems whereas EE's is a bit more reliable.

I think you have misread my post, I was recommending the EE checker too.

The EE checker also allows you to sign up for SMS updates on a postcode, works for my Three mobile number too so no need for an EE sim.

it's a bit slow here today (East Anglia) and some pages just refuse to load, but well that's not exactly anything new.

They tweeted some are having problems with calls and texts but nothing broken has reached up here yet.

No I was just saying that that's what I do and it's a pretty reliable solution
