4G CPE Pro 2 Router (New)

Good spot - only been on Amazon for ~3weeks, but has been provided by EIR in Ireland to their customers since late last year.

Feels like a nice step up from the B535, for not much more money, if these specs are accurate:
4x4 MIMO on a number of bands
2CA DL (4x4+2x2) or 3CA DL (2x2+2x2+2x2)
256QAM DL
2CA UL

Edit: arguably the B818 could still be a better buy (+£20 on amazon) for more potential DL, though no UL CA available on it.

Edit 2: B818 is probably better aligned to EE's 4G network with greater CA capabilities, and the B628 a better match for Three. Assuming high spec'd 4G masts in your area for both.

For those not in a 5G area, or likely to be anytime soon, does this offer any tangible benefits over the Cat19 B818 which is only marginally more expensive?

This is so confusing!
So this _new_ CPE Pro2 "4G only" is cat12, 4x4 mimo.. so basically it's got nothing on the B818, the price is also quite similar.

No, but its a level or two down from it - as designated by being a '6xx' series, not an '8' series model.
Pricing is probably higher than it should be, perhaps due to it being new to the market and/or the global chip shortage limiting availability (and/or surplus/adequate stocks of the B818 pushing its price down closer to it)

I'm deciding between the B818 and B628-265. I am on EE so should I go for the B818 instead? Why is it better for EE?

Carrier Aggregation with a higher CAT 19 than B628 CAT 12, 628 also only allows 2 Band CA.

Will be better on EE as their spectrum is spaghetti junction so the B818 should perform much better.

The difference of £50 is worth spending the extra - B818.
