Three Huawei CPE Pro 5G router does not function properly with Three SIM card (UK)

Yes its odd, if you have a Huawei router unlocked from another provider and stick on Three then any update will be from the first provider and not Three.

But mine was never from another provider. It came sim free and unlocked.
Then you will get the updates from Huawei direct.

I wonder how you can tell if it's from Huawei or carrier, my CPE Pro 2 updated when I first got it and it had a Voxi sim in it.

10.0.5.13 (H612SP5C1217)

Never had any updates since then.

That's another strange Huawei router policy, you get one OTA update and no more, any further updates seem to have to be using the forced method by PC and USB cable and drivers etc.

Not too bothered as it's working great, but it would be nice to know it's trying to keep up kommando828. :giggle:

I wouldn't know where to start trying to update it via PC.

I got my Three unlimited sim and began testing on my cpe pro 2. The numbers are inconsistent. One minute I am getting 400/60 9 ping and the next I am getting 100/20 22 ping.

Was there any update here?

We have had the three 5g CPE pro 2 router for 1 week, working fine until today my android phone could not connect to the internet (but still connected to WiFi) and PC laptop stayed connected just fine...

Oddly that was temporary, and after a router restart and a phone restart the android mobile WiFi connection came back. VERY odd. But would love to know if anyone has any idea on a fix for this long term - so bizarre intermittent android device wifi -> Internet connection problems when laptop still fine

Have you created a ivp4 apn?
I haven't changed anything yet because reading up the thread none of the changes worked for the poster as far as I could see.

So no changes made, but problem rectified - which didn't seem to be the case for anyone else, for others it was it switched off on the android device and stayed off. For me it came back after a few hours/restarts. Concerned about it happening again as only on day 8 of first 14

Hi all. I have the same issue.
I subscribed to Three 5G home Broadband and got the Huawei 5G CPE H122-373.

When connected on ethernet the playstation and tv always work.
However the wifi is an issue, it is connected with full bar on my iPhone and/or laptop (MacBook) and often the internet won’t work. Google search won’t even load!
I called them 2-3 times, they basically saying that they cannot find or see any issue, refresh my connection, then it’s ok for few ours, and it happens again.
It is really on and off and makes no sense whatsoever!
If someone find some sort of fix I would be so grateful.
Can’t believe this is happening to many customers and yet it’s not fixed.

Hi, just stumbled across this thread. Have had my Huawei 5G CPE from three for quite a few months. Everything was perfect for me until about 2 months ago I noticed my Samsung TV would not connect, then I noticed my Samsung tablet also wouldn't. My iPhone and PC connect fine, the PC being connected via ethernet. On the tablet I can connect to google (via chrome app) and Youtube would load okay, Netflix however would not. Restarting the router Netflix started working again (for how long I do not know). The TV is quite annoying as I enjoyed watching on demand. I have ordered a firestick to see if that can connect as it seems very random what can and cant work with the WiFi.

think i might of just fixed this issue as ive purchased the same router from three. i have gone onto the EE forums and used advice given on there and changed the APN: Name - 3internet APN - everywhere Username: 3secure Password - secure this has worked for me and i was having issues with youtube, facebook, firestick, alexa, most google search were timing out before loading. give it a shot.

These are issues with Three’s traffic management and most likely not the phone or router.

Three customer services can’t resolve it as it’s not something they have control over. You won’t be able to resolve it. Just use a different network. Three do deep packet inspection to detect exactly what device is using the internet and prioritise it differently. If it gets low priority, you’re screwed because Three’s network gets hammered for data on account of it being so cheap.

This is a tale as old as time, Three have some quirky things going on.

This seems to have worked for me, was having problems with my TVs using Netflix but added the new profile with those details and all seems to be good now.

Oh my goodness, this just fixed my smart TV. THANK YOU

Likely by entering that bogus apn you might have ended up on the "three.co.uk" apn, dedicated to mobile phones, as opposed to their (default?) "3internet" one dedicated to mobile broadband.

No idea, Im still getting about 300 down and 30 up so not sure if there are any downsides but seems a lot better than not even being able to use Netflix.
