A 3 Pole of Wonder

No viaduct Bubbles, but a good few houses, so fingers crossed it'll at least improve my 30 on 4G.🤞
You certainly will. Once our 4G got upgraded it went from 10 meg to 140 meg.

Well our Pole of Wonder that went in the Ground Late April 2021 finally sprung into life this morning at 9am WooHoo.

Download Speeds (Without optimising Router Position) are about the same as with using the much more distant pole we had before (150 to 300Mbps), But upload Speeds have jumped from 3 to 5Mbps up to 50 to 80Mbps so now much more usable, and a good signal it seems with the router anywhere in the house instead of having to have it perched 8ft up in a bedroom window.. Happy days.

Must be on a different Backhaul as all the old poles picked the nearest test sites as sheffield, new one all pick London!!!

Woo congratulations Stageshoot, that would do me fine If I get similar results.

I'm only at the early stages at the moment with the real digging to begin on the 25th of October.

They'll get there eventually, hopefully going live in the first few months of next year if it's comparable to your timescale. (y)

Cheers, just need to fine tune position now, decide if I go for position of router for max speed or max convenience, but averages around 250 up 50 down will keep me very happy

That will do me nicely, Router tucked away hardwired to a repeater to cover the downstairs. Happy Wife as no routers hanging in windows.

How far are you away from the mast? That's a higher 5G RSRP than me and I'm 2.4km away from mine!

But your upload speeds would suggest you're fairly close to the mast.

Only 500m but the problem is the row of houses marked with a red line blocking LOS, Happy with the speeds at mo, if I get issues can move router to loft which may just breach the LOS block

But its not messing speeds too much

Very nice, bodes well for my new mast at just over 300m away, with direct LOS (bar a fence and maybe a single tree!)

This is the mast as seen from an upstairs window:

Hoping for 350mbps + given that I can get 300+ upstairs in the current location connected to a mast 2.4km away!!

Will you be setting up a live stream for the event?!
Yes of course Gavin, sorry I know I'm just getting a wee bit excited with my numerous pointless posts. I'll try and calm down for a bit now.🤭

You're having us all look at a patch of re-turfed verge... it's probably the most pointless thing I've seen on the web today, yet I still clicked through 🤪
Well thank you for at least looking Gavin. Just glad I can't hear your sighs and tuts while you roll your eyes. ;) :giggle:

I see your filled in hole and raise you a massive pole! 😁

5g antennas yet to be fitted, 2 guys still there at 4:45pm wiring up stuff, work doesn't end until the end of tomorrow.

That measly 4g pole next to itis coming down at some point too.

  ;) :giggle:

Thanks for sharing TallPaul_S (y)

Just double checked the planning docs and the top 5g antennas are Three, the 4g antennas already fitted are dual EE/Three. I know some poles have 2 sets of 5g antennas just needed to be sure!! 🤨

You both seem to be our luckiest members atm!

Does your table state EE in the 'Operator Shared' section TallPaul_S?
Mine seems to be blank.

Mine is different, shows this:

It'll probably have more details in one of the other documents, mine explains that Three want to expand 5G to here and the pole will allow for EE to also use it for 5G at a later point if needed.

Interesting, I'm not seeing any mention of EE in mine anywhere.
It seems to have the three frequencies in this diagram, but not the new ones.

Maybe things will change nearer completion, who knows.
