Open Infra

Just had 2 mailshots in last week from Open Infra, last one stated they were deploying to my area in summer/autumn 22, but never heard of them and the isp’s on their website I have never heard of. So question is does anybody have experience of their infrastructure and the isp’s who use them?

They are deploying to our local area in Summer 22 as well (NW7). Starting last month in the general area. We are offered one ISP on their infrastructure. I can't for the life of me remember exactly who it was. They are offering 250/500/900 options with 100 up.

I am waiting to see who lands first here, CommunityFibre or OpenInfra.

I have them, Openreach and Cityfibre all coming in the next couple of years so will have to make decision when current contract ends next year

Interesting, we've had very little detail about Open Infra and they're extremely new.

I note the mention of a deployment in NW7 above, but what postcode area are you talking about Sheepdog? I'm trying to figure out their build plan.

Also, is anybody willing to share one of their leaflets?

I've been keeping this article constantly up-to-date for the past 2 years :)

Community Fibre prem passed not around 616,000 according to your article here though…?

Edit: oh I see the list on page 2 is updated. Doh

So a grand total of 109 FTTP network builders/operators according to Mark’s article.

Who can say the word consolidation 😅

As the market settles we'll probably see a lot of consolidation happening, but not right now, maybe in 2-3 years.

Some consolidation is already happening, but at a slower opening pace (e.g. FibreNation > CityFibre, People's Fibre > Swish Fibre, BFN > Vispa). I'm expecting a couple more deals like this in the near future, but let's keep this on topic :) .

Hope it bring to Telford, so I will dump FTTC for FTTP 250/100 @ £17.90 a month (no contract) is perfect fine.

Any idea if they’re using XGS-PON or point-2-point FTTP?
Not sure, but the slower upload speeds may provide a hint, unless that's more of an economic than technical decision.

I get that impression too.

Thought had crossed my mind (perhaps it was the Swedish provider background) that they may be taking a similar P2P architecture and wholesaler approach similar to VX Fibre / LilaConnect
