Grey Boxes

I have FTTP at my location via poles and o/h cables all done by Openreach.
Today I'm noticing (could have been done a week ago) each pole now has a grey box at the top.
Is this another FTTP provider setting up their network?

Without a picture of said Grey Box it’d difficult to say as could be a piece of ORs furniture
Yep Openreach CBTs are (almost*) universally black with exposed OptiTap connection stubs (aka 'nipples').

Many AltNets use an alternative HellermanTyton AFN-style enclosure - all smooth sided from the outside, hinged lid affair. The connections are internal, usually LC/APC types.

Thanks for the info.

So if I decided to go with Be Fibre would I get another cable from this grey box to my property?

Is there a limit on how many different broadband companies can use the same pole?

Correct.

Completely separate network - so separate drop cable/service-splice point and separate ONT/router in your property.

Finally, yes there is a finite physical limit on how much gear can be mounted on a pole. Although the bracket arrangement, as seen in the opening post (second photo) of the recent Race between providers thread, assists in 'stacking' additional termination boxes on the limited pole space.

Thank you for your kind help, have a great weekend.
