More latency issues with Vodafone (Lebara)...

Using a Lebara unlimited SIM for 4G broadband.

Every once in a while, my latency seems to shoot up from ~30ms to >150ms, typically lasting from a few hours to a couple of days. The speed also seems to be affected somewhat too, as it jumps around all over the place instead of being constant like it usually would be. I've only experienced it a couple of times, but it makes any kind of gaming or realtime activities impossible.

I ran a tracert which confirms it's not on my end. Is anyone else experiencing this right now, or is this just a local mast or citywide fault? There's nothing out of the ordinary showing up on the VF status checker page, which might be expected as it technically does sort work.

Seems to have fixed itself since last night or this morning, and it's back to normal. Would be good if this didn't have to happen every few weeks though.

Aaand the faults back again. This time it's being very volatile between 40 and 90ms, instead of a constant 140.

Do you notice a change of public IP?
I'm honestly not sure, I haven't been tracking it. It changes every now and again, usually lasting a couple days, but obviously the IP is shared. The "WAN IP address" on the router page is showing as 10.165.163.132 - again, no idea if this is typical.

which APN are you using?

web browsing to http://uk.lebara.mobi takes you to cloudflare, and a 1001 dns resolution error?

Code:
ping uk.lebara.mobi

Pinging m.lebara.co.uk.cdn.cloudflare.net [104.16.21.167] with 32 bytes of data:

any chance you could try the underlying m.lebara.co.uk.cdn.cloudflare.net apn?

No idea if I cocked something up, but replacing that string completely disconnects the internet (and crashed the router for 15 mins... though I think that's an issue with the firmware).

do check out the public ip you're on - it indicates which Internet Exchange you're connecting to - London, Manchester or Edinburgh.

Current IP is 185.69.145.1, though the issue seems to have vanished again and pings are normal. Surely the exchange itself wouldn't make such a big difference? I've had pings to US servers below 80ms before (on fixed line), so an additional 110ms would surely still indicate a fault?

I never managed to fix it myself. Even right now I'm getting 90ms, it's just something I've learned to put up with.
