MIMO Antenna cabling

HI all

If i buy a 4x4 MIMO antenna does that mean I will then need to run 4 separate rx6 coaxial cables to my modem? If so is there a way to collapse the 4 cables into one cable for better cable management?

They do a 2 in to one which what i used to use https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09PTR8YFL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 not sure they do a 4 in to one, as 2 have to be main, and the other two will be aux/div
Thanks for the quick response. I live in a flat and the option for external mounting is very limited to enable easy cable management. With one cable it's just about doable. With two it becomes messy.
If it becomes too difficult I'll opt for an indoor antenna and place it by the window. Or I may buy just a 2x2 MIMO antenna.

Simply, no. You'd be losing any potential benefit of a MIMO antenna and be presenting your modem interfaces with the same signal - MIMO works by the signals at each interface being very minutely different and so able to utilise more streams, each on a slightly different

Is it possible to use 2 separate 2x2 mimo antenna to obtain 4x4 mimo to my modem?

An indoor antenna is unlikely to help, on the contrary.

I don't have any antenna at the moment as this is diy project. The outdoor antenna is not possible so I have to go with the indoor route and see how that performs. Ended up going with a 4x4 mimo antenna from taoglas

As previously stated by GavinAsford and Lucian you will need to run 4 x Cables with 4 x Antennas in order to achieve true 4x4 Mimo,, you cant just magic something up using 1 or 2 Cables with T Pieces or Splitters its unlikely to perform as well.

If you really are stuck with mounting indoors near a window, try and get the Antenna in the Upper middle part of the Glass Window clear of the Window Frames (most Double Glazing Frames have metal inserts to protect and seal the outer edges of each Glass Panel).

I have done something simular for someone using 2 lots of Huawei Indoor 4/5G Antennas (2x2 Mimo each) and mounted them approx 1 meter apart with one Antenna pointing directly at the Mast Area and the other Antenna slightly offset to it in order to try a pick up a Reflected Signal on one of the Mimo Pairs.

Another option is Poynting do a 4x4 Mimo 4/5G Panel that can be Mast or Wall Mounted but also comes with Window Suction Caps for Window Glass mounting, Ive actually got one these but have yet to test it.

Your also need a relatively decent Signal in order to take full advantage of the 4x4 Mimo Signal path over normal 2x2 but the Speed benefits are there if achievable.

Out of interest which Router are you planning on using as most do not have external 4x4 Mimo Antenna Ports normally just 2x2 and sometimes the External Ports do not cover All the required Bands for 4/5G
