Thinking about switching to idnet

Couple of things id like to ask,

Can i raise support tickets via there website/control panel for my account or is it phone support only ?

www.idnetters.co.uk This site would be useful but it says that gmail accounts wont work why ? And if im a customer how would i get access to it ?

Im currently on 80/20 package i was getting solid 74/19 for the first 3 years with my current isp then it dropped too 65/15 after much talking with them they said possible crosstalk has affected it. Also at peak times i drop from 65/15 to 55/13 current isp say there is no issues with my connection or phoneline i feel im being lied too.

Will my internet be the same with idnet or better ?

A big part of that question depends on whether the issue is really caused by crosstalk or is more of a capacity problem with the ISP itself. We might get a better idea if you could post your router stats (attenuation, noise margin etc.).

If it is crosstalk then there's not a lot that an ISP can do except complain to Openreach. In some areas OR can deploy vectoring to improve the situation but this doesn't work properly everywhere and is only used sparingly. On the other hand if the issue is congestion via your ISP then switching may help.

As for the support question, that one is probably better directed at iDNET's support channel and they do provide an email for that too:

support@idnet.com

One thing to remember if you do not keep router firmware updated this can also slow things down. Also is the router using the firmware BT recomend. I was using draytek but not BT's accepted firmware, when I updated to the recommended firmware I regained my higher sync speed I am back to where I was when I first moved to FTTC which according to BT install reports was 18th September 2013. I had dropped down to below 50Mbps sync on other firmware I am back in sync at 72Mbps. I know my router was expensive but just like your ISP sometimes you need to pay more to get the best from the connection.
