1 month broadband offer - avoid activation fee???

Hi,

I am currently on Freeserve Anytime and want to move to broadband. My phone line is NOT ADSL ENABLED and do not have the hardware as well. I do not want to subscribe to any provider who forces 12 month minimum contract.

Freeserve 1 month trial offer seems to be a solution for me. By joining freeserve broadband for one month, then canceling within trial period I will be able to ADSL enable my phone line. Then buying my own hardware, I can join another provider who offers no minimum or less than 3 month contract. In this way, I will avoid paying the activation fee.

Is there any problem with my thinking or is Freeserve gonno deactivate ADSL from my phone line?

Your help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
CS

Check a few out some have different deals.

Vispa is free line activation at the mo others are cheaper for the first 3 months.

Check each ISP that offers ADSL before you sign up with any ISP.. ADSL is not like 56K its not easy once you are activated to move on.. The ISP has to support migration to be able to move one. It could take a few weeks to migrate to another ISP and if BT contact your present ISP and they refuse to allow you to migrate the only way is to cancel and wait for the line to have ADSL removed before you can get ADSL with another ISP..

Your thinkin is flawed.

If you cancel using the trial period they cease your ADSL removing it off your line and you'll be required to send your equipment back to them for the refund.

Also flawed as when they enable your line, its enabled to Freeserve - to change ISP you have to have it taken off and put back on again anyhoos.

Also what your suggesting is Deception - which comes with a prison sentence I believe.

Opportunistic

Good Idea - it'd be nice to get something for free, but Norfett's right. When you cease your service, Freeserve will cease your line; but they wont be quick about it.

My mate tried this to get free activation and Freeserve took 3 months to clear from his line; this meant he couldn't get ADSL anywhere at all for all this time - he was not best pleased.

ADSL always seems to have problems being taken off by most ISPs, not just Freeserve.

If you pay to get your line on ADSL buy your modem and filters join
a isp leave after a couple of months to a new adsl isp that is going

To cost alot in change over fees best to join a adsl isp who offers a decent service. my isp been with them 19 months email fails some times name pipex set up under £16 thats modem filters and line
if you leave the min you pay back is the cost of getting adsl on your line take a good look at the offers and the companys 12 months soon goes just try to get it right then it will work out a lot cheaper.

Thanks for info, and just joined freeserve (special price). Having few issues with them and if you would like to know, read my new post.

Thanks Again,
mar
