Entry level Broadband from ISPs via BT wholesale
Sorry I’ve not been able to help you much Bartman, and this is really just a bit of chit-chat, but you may nevertheless be interested in this little bit of news from a week or two ago.
I don't think ISPR picked up on it, therefore you may be unaware of it.
Despite their initial ridicule of Tiscali and it’s 150K Broadband service, it seems BT have had somewhat of a rethink and may well be proposing to offer ISPs a more flexible option of what broadband services will be available via its wholesale division.
This could include an ‘entry level’ bandwidth (of which I presume could be 150K) being available from many more ISPs than at present, therefore your brother may be in with a chance at some point in the future.
From what I saw, prices/options will be announced around springtime, although the actual services may not go live until later this year, so he’s in for a wait even if this idea takes off.
