1p mobile showing as ee all of a sudden

I know 1p runs on ee but up until today it would display as 1p, anyone else now show ee or just me ?
If your SIM gets reprovisioned for whatever reason it will do that temporarily. Usually at your next reboot or after a day or so it will sort itself out.

You shouldn't notice any change in service or performance in any case, just a different name displayed temporarily.

are you on wifi calling? My Pixel shows "1p - EE" when not on wifi, and "EE Wi-Fi Calling" when it is.

On Wi-Fi shows “ee WiFi call” off WiFi “ee 4g” - first time I have ever seen this, been like it hours even after restart of phone

Will keep an eye out then , just never saw it before so wondered if something had changed , like maybe they were using some of their own systems and now they went for the full EE package where they run absolutely everything , feel like there are multiple levels of service you can buy

I don't think there's that much difference anyway. The IP addresses are owned by BT, the voice you get when you call 150 (telling you to go to the 1p website) is the same one who does all of EE's announcements, the number ranges are owned by EE.

As compared to Lyca or Spusu who are a lot more hands on.

For a month or 2 my Talkmobile stopped saying Talkmobile and just "vodafone UK"
Obviously it doesn't change much but I care about such nuances.
I think it happened when I got a replacement SIM to the new half-sized ones.
It recently started showing Talkmobile again which I'm happy about :)

Thought it was just me, I am fine with it saying ee, but only if that’s what it does for everyone , or else I just wonder what they have messed up in my account that makes it different 😂

Wait till you find out that from today, 1p are going to charge you EE prices.
That should wipe the smile from your face mobile_net_test.;) :giggle:

Mine's showing "1p":

1.webp

Just an update in case anyone is interested

Still showing as “ee” even after travelling around different areas, switching off for 15 mins , restarting phone.

Appears to have no impact on service, if I do a scan for networks I do not see 1p anymore , only ee , weird naming issue

Network “234 32” does show up when I scan but doesn’t seem to work if I select it

Network is listed as “EE 58.0” in general > about on iPhone .

Our network is listed as either '1pMobile', 'EE', 'Club', 'Orange', 'Plus' or 'T-mobile'.

The above was taken from their help pages, as long as it works mobile_net_test. :giggle:

Yup just wondering what changed if anything will change going forward I guess as it swapped from one to another. If it said ee from the start then would kinda get it, not a massive issue but just get curious about this stuff 😂
