1p mobile unlimited FUP

If forced to do unlimited I guess they could argue it's mobile plan only. If using it for mobile broadband you're against TOS?
I have quite a few customers on 1pMobile as 1p are my EE MVNO of choice.
Whilst I agree that the marketing of their 'Unlimited' boost is a little misleading, other networks also have a FUP that makes their 'unlimited' offerings not exactly unlimited with similar sized max usage limits.

1pMobile offer several types of boost - they have their 'data only' boosts (for mobile broadband routers) and their regular boosts that include texts/calls etc. The Unlimited boost is not offered as a 'data only' option - suggesting to me that they are not marketing it for mobile broadband use.

Most of my customers don't even consume all of the 200Gb boost although some choose the unlimited option 'just in case'.

600Gb is not normal usage. I don't think that too many 'mere mortals' will hit that limit although I still make that limit absolutely clear to my customers as a reseller of 1pMobile's service. Full transparency - as a service provider/business, I am not affiliated with 1pMobile and I have customers on GiffGaff, o2, Three and Smarty too. 1pMobile remain my favourite EE MVNO as their offerings are very competitively priced and their customer service is quick and efficient - much better than most other operators/MVNOs.

Interestingly the ASA only responded to my first report on this for scancom, they never responded on 1p mobile or the 3rd one I did. Not very good if they felt to sweep it under the rug rather than decline or accept it officially. Although they may have intended for that response to apply for all 3 complaints.
I go no response at all.

The advantage of 1pmobile is that you can easily switch between packages, and their app makes it easy to do this as well as keeping track of your data usage. I use them for the router on my narrowboat, when I'm not onboard there's a £3pcm 1GB auto-renewing boost to allow remote monitoring and control, whenever I go to spend a couple of weeks or more on it I use an £18pcm 200GB boost.

1pMobile's hour-by-hour breakdown of mobile data usage is really useful.

600Gb is not normal usage. I don't think that too many 'mere mortals' will hit that limit...

600Gb is only 75GB, IMO that isn't a particularly huge level of usage...

But being more serious -- I agree that 600GB is abnormal and significantly above average, but we expect those users to buy mobile packages with the largest data allowances. This isn't a question of normality, but rather...

4.j.iv Data consumption is subject to a personal usage cap of 500GB.
[...]
4.k.ii Unreasonably Large Data Usage: The policy specifies that using a significantly large amount of data, such as around 500GB within a specific period, would be considered excessive.
(source: 1pMobile Terms and Conditions, 3 October 2024 edition)

Is 500GB not merely abnormal or above average but "excessive" in the context of an unlimited data plan being sold for personal use? Personally I don't think so -- if 1pMobile want to limit their £25 package to 500GB then they should advertise it as 500GB like they used to rather than falsely claim that it is "unlimited". For the avoidance of doubt I apply this logic to all operators -- IMO it's unacceptable to hide details like data caps in the small print unless they're so large that only a very tiny minority of users will hit them (e.g. Init7, a Swiss ISP offering residential services up to 25Gb/s, has a fair use policy of 500TB per 4 weeks).
