2 Gbps Options Now Available

I am currently with EE 1gb service, before that BT 1gb. Virgin have just finished installing their new service in my area and got a leaflet through my door saying I can order their service. I can get the symmetrical service, but my only apprehension is stability. I have had FTTP since 2018 on OR network and not once have I had any downtime, slow speeds, latency issues its been rock solid. How's virgin media on this new network?
Honestly, i've had constant up-time since my install at the end of January. Absolutely zero issues.

Had one hour downtime since my install 7 months ago - but their install and customer service has been abhorrent. So if you have other options with better customer service I'd go for them first, if VM is desired for their speed/symmetry then go for it, but be aware upfront of their customer service being really really bad so working out issues can be an extremely tedious process.

If you are already with an OR based provider, and are happy with it - I'd stay right where you are. The XGS-PON network will indeed be faster, and of course, symmetric options are available that won't otherwise be with Openreach. If you really are after the faster speeds, I'd at least wait until Nexfibre open the wholesale up to other companies and I'd left VM well alone.

Sooooo... after a fair bit of radio silence, I finally got an update on my complaint today!

They've made some changes to their back-end system (the chap mentioned the word Discover), which should enable them to start allowing the addition of add-on's to existing XGS-PON customers.

There's now a request in with their internal IT for them to make a change on the contract on my account to enable the above. Apparently there's an SLA of 1 week on these internal requests - so should hopefully hear something next week.

The cynic in me makes me think this was a ploy for a "bit more time", but i'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now given the effort made to contact me (call, voicemail, email and then another call).

We shall see - should hopefully have an update this time next week!

Nope. One solitary user on Reddit claimed it was enabled on their Hub5x but they backtracked a few days later and claimed it "disappeared".
I noticed it appeared on mine a few days ago:

No problem. Not massively important to me because I've no intention of taking their product, but would have been a lot more interested potentially if they finally had modem mode working.
