You can have it symmetric, so 2 up and down...Pricing isn't too bad but I wish the upload was higher.
Did you read any of this thread?Pricing isn't too bad but I wish the upload was higher.
Sorry, I've no idea Bioldol, I just shared the announcement. Is this supposed to show up on the availiblity checker here?

I haven't tried again yet. I'm intentionally waiting a couple of weeks in the hope their call agents get suitably educated in the meantime.Has anyone had any luck adding symmetrical services since Mark's article last week?
I've managed it just before he posted his issues - not sure whether being a brand new customer helped in that or not.Has anyone had any luck adding symmetrical services since Mark's article last week?
Unfortunately not, I'm still waiting for them to reply to my complaint where they offered 1Gb symmetrical for £45. I did contact support but they asked me to wait for complaints department to get in touch.Has anyone had any luck adding symmetrical services since Mark's article last week?
Painful isn't it!i tried yesterday to get the symmetric addon , was quoted £11 not £6, sent them the articles.
No Richard, all of the account are basically non symmetric broadband type what Virgin media used to offer.
Customer who have non symmetric package will have to change to symmetric first only then we can the upload speed be added.
This option to change the symmetric type has only been given to customers who have the Hub5x & not all the customers who already have services with us.
This is still work in progress & later you may get offers on the account to upgrade the upload speed at discounted price which will be help full to you
I understand Richard but on the account, it shows 11 pound extra for this update.
That would be mostly because we are changing your package from non symmetric to symmetric & then adding upload speed.
That would be the reason why its costing 11 extra instead of just 6 pounds.
Ask them to change your package to symmetric but don't add upload speed. That would be mostly because we are changing your package from non symmetric to symmetric & then adding upload speed.
So, they could offer all their packages as symmetrical if they wanted?i tried yesterday to get the symmetric addon , was quoted £11 not £6, sent them the articles.

yeah its weirdly an addon, recently signed up as a new customer for £33 for 500mb, volt to 1gig, so 1000/1000 for £39 seems ok to me. I've still got 2gig for a while -.-So, they could offer all their packages as symmetrical if they wanted?
This is an absolute ****show, Why even charge more for symmetrical speeds? it's not like it costs them anymore, it's the opposite in fact, it costs them more to make it non symmetrical, it's symmetrical by default most of the time on internal networking and I bet it's the same there
