Just came back from holiday and noticed my Giganet connection (openreach) has now changed:
- IPv4 fixed address (for 1.5 years) replaced by CGNAT
- IPv6 prefix changed (48->56, different) - can deal with change & smaller range (!) but is it fixed or dynamic?
- latency increased on first hop by ~3ms, with noticeably more ipv4 hops
I didn't notice any email from giganet. I presume this is their 'new' network which seems worse in all ways so far.
I understand the reason for (but don't like) cgnat. I wish I'd know if ipv6 prefix is static, and am annoyed mostly at the latency increase.
Possibly a time to switch. I have emailed them for a response.
