Hi guys

If you could help me i have my Huawei AX3 router wired connected to my Broadbands provided router but I get speeds well over 200mbps WiFi speeds and upstairs when it's connected to Huawei AX3 it's just over 90mpbs

How do i resolve this AX3 is on Auto-obtain IP DHCP.

I fixed the problem just took out the cat8 cable from the 2nd router wan port put it back on bingo getting full speeds same as downstairs dont know why it's suddenly was restricted to under 100mbps speeds.

Cat 8? Unfortunately that might be a poorly made cable that doesn't really conform to proper standards, as Cat 8 is a bit of a non-standard but consumers see Cat 8 and think it must be better than 7 or 6 or 5.

Is it a flat cable (this compromises the cable to handle interference)

And do you know if the conductors are pure copper or CCA (copper covered aluminium)

I am suspicious this cable may continue to cause issues and I would recommend you replace the cable with a decent Cat5e or Cat6a cable, round profile, pure copper conductors, AWG 24 or AWG26.

The other cause is an autoconfig incompatibility between the two devices which is causing the speed to be misconfigured. Ensuring you're on the latest firmware will help but let's get a decent cable in place first.

Thanks for the advice as long as the Cat8 cable works fine it's OK for me I'm not too fused about the cable both routers are on the latest firmware.

Im paying for 1gbps speeds don't have any decives that can reach over near 1gig as all my device are mid range only can go max just little over 300mbps 5G chip on Honor magic 6 lite is more powerful then the wifi chip I can get well over 400mbps to 500mbps on 5G SA.

I might change my plan fibre plan to a lower speed cause I don't seem to need 1gig only if I'm gaming.

Remember the bandwidth available is shared across all your devices, not per device.
