3 DC-HSPA

I sometimes switch over to 3G in the evenings on three as it is faster, tonight I notice I can no longer get dual carrier HSPA and so speeds are bad, maybe this suggests my local site will finally see band 1 lte? Is anyone able to use DC-HSPA in areas that have band 1 4g?

Hi Zathan, I have band 1 4G here and can still get HSPA+ too.
I tried it on my Samsung tablet.

My speed is 16/5 if that's of any help.

Hope that's what you meant.☺️

HSPA+ isn't the same as DC-HSPA, though they'll likely both show as H+ in a status bar since DC-HSPA can be considered as an extension of HSPA+
DC-HSPA is similar to 4G carrier aggregation and uses multiple carriers to increase throughput.

@Zathan if Three have reduced their 3G down to a single carrier on 2100Mhz then its likely that they are at least planning to enable B1 4G, though usually that'd need a new radio at the site to do so.

Alternatively, there have also been reports of Three changing their network parameters over the past days/week so it could be that they messed something up and accidently did something that has caused a 3G carrier to no longer work.

Thanks for that Gavin, every day is still a school day which is always good.😊👍

Thanks for the info, this router did display DC-HSPA, knowing three I think what you say is correct and that a 3G carrier simply isn't working.
