47-DUN-6091 error.

I am on AOL 9 using XP SP2 and keep getting disconnected. They forced me to install a connectivity helper. The error reported is: 47-DUN-6091.

Anyone know what that is? And why I can't just clobber it myself?

I am using a BT Voyager 100 asdl router modem.

Yes, they suggested I phone them between 6 and midnight as it is cheaper then.

They didn't say what time I will stand a better chance of getting the job done quickest. Which left me wondering am I partyannoyed? What do you think? Half an hour at the higher rate or two hours at the lower?

And I still haven't been told that my move to AOL Talk ripped up my old contract. Probably because their malware screwed up their e-mail system or AOL deleted it as spam.

I had a shed load of trouble about the time I was sold. And now they are doing the exact same thing again. They must need the money. I bet there must be loads of customers like me out there all putting their shillings in the meter. Half a dozen and more wouldn't surprise me.

And of course, like vandals breaking into cars in certain police areas, it ain't a crime if no-one looks.

Here's the thing with it. On the set up from the old CD (I haven't been given a new CD all the coasters are still AOL AOL offers. (Do AOL Talk do a CD?))

So, the sign-on page tells me I am connecting with Home DSL.

This malware thing insists that I am connecting with "TCP/IP". Only it isn't and I remember it didn't like to do it last time either. I should contact their help line if rebooting doesn't clear it.

A pop-up -just as irritating as those Messenger Blocker pop-ups, stops me from using their browser until I agree to the malware. Fortunately it doesn't affect Firefox or Opera.

We can't really help with the error code beause it's AOL specific rather than generic to the operating system, so only they can answer that question. Also, TCP/IP is perhaps better known as "The Internet Protocol", behind the scenes we all use and passively connect with it.

Regarding your connection, have you tried any of the usual ADSL tips?

That TCP/IP thing is also an AOL specific problem code. I don't think I'll ever get to the bottom of it but it is definitely a CPW fork.

I didn't know about that page. Thanks for the tip.
