When working from my girlfriend's place, I have an issue using the work VPN. I improved upon the ADSL connection by adding a 4G connection and load balancing with a TP link ER605. I can set the ER605 to use one or other Internet connections or both.
When set to both VPN connects, but I can't see the company network.
When set to just use the VF 4G connection same issue (4G Residential Router attached to directional antenna).
When set to use the BT ADSL connection it works fine.
I can also tether to my personal iPhone on VF / Lebara and it work no problem. Speeds are just not as good.
I have a work around, whereby I have set some static routes on the ER605 so when trying to connect to one of the 4 public IPs used for the VPN, the traffic is sent via the BT ADSL link. All other traffic can load balance as normal. Means on work VPN I get 8Mbps down and 800kbps up. A test on LB connection shows roughly 20Mbps down and 10 Mbps up.
It might be an issue at work end and I will work with colleague there to see if there might be anything stopping this type of connection.
Just wanted to pull on other people's experience if it was due to something my end?
Routing. Device is on 192.168.2.0/24 same as the ER605. Then uses either 192.168.8.0/24 for 4G or 192.1681.0/24 for ADSL. Both gateways are NAT overload.
If need anymore information, please ask.
