and here was I thinking 6 days was already too long, Royal Mail here is a bit slow too but anyway mine is coming via Evri they say and not Royal Mail, so we will see.Mine took almost 2 weeks but the Royal Mail around here is slow.
8th May ordered, arrived 9th Julyso how long did it take then in total since you ordered it?
as I am still waiting for mine which I ordered on 03Jul24
As I've never heard of this company before, the esim adaptor ought to work in any smartphone right?
Even those brought within the EU?
Anyone tried different esims from different retailers to see what 5ber is like?
Thank you, I've used the esim.me one before which worked to a point, for some reason the texts wouldn't work so hoping it was just the esim.me adaptor at fault.Yes it works in any phone but you must use an Android to manage, install, and delete eSims. I have a variety of eSims in mine. I bought the basic one for $12 and a $5 add-on for 10 more downloads.
There are other ways to program it, but you either need a rooted phone or a pc.Website seems to have gone.
App registration fails.
Useless chip now.
oh interesting. i have a smart card reader/writer too. what software can you use ? its working ok at the moment, but it certainly went down or something and was down for more than a day which sort of highlights that you need their servers in order to do anything with it at least with their app. It's good to know you can program them independently though. There are other ways to program it, but you either need a rooted phone or a pc.
I did think about ordering a card reader off AliExpress to try the pc approach, but I haven't done thus far, reasonably happy with the BNE esims I have loaded on both of mine.
For one of them I can't see myself programming a new eSIM onto it unless the existing one stops working, or I find a much better deal as it's in a device that's a bit of a pig to get to.
this is true, but i wouldn't say it was restricted to just China. I've got several fitbit things that google has sunsetted and don't work any more. An Aria scale, and a fitbit charge. Neither of which work any more. And Samsung dropped all support for their older tizen based smart watches. Nature of the beast unfortunately. But as @dragon2611 mentions it looks like we can find a way around it if/when it finally drops off a cliff. Looking into programming options at the moment, and might give it a try when i can. This is a nice reminder not to rely on Chinese products that rely on Chinese apps/servers that can (and will eventually) be pulled offline at some point with no warning
yep.Are 5ber and esim the only two esim to physical SIM providers at the moment?
So the summary seems to be...yep.
