5G Cpe pro unlocked device

I wouldn't be buying anything right now, with new spectrum up for auction that these device may or may not support.

My testing device was only release towards end of last year and already that isn't going to be able to use the lower bands of NR like 700mhz which is Band 12/n12.

See what huawei do for you, its nice that they are going to help you out like that but suprised Three has released the device like they have.
You are very right we are very limited. current 5G routers may not support the new spectrum Huawei are the only 5G routers that all mobile networks are giving customers what happen to EE using HTC 5G smart Hub they were supposed to give customers when they launched 5G broadband.

There might be a firmware update if Huawei current 5G routers can support it only if netowrk push for it.

One think im thinking many people dont know tech like us people just buy a device or service expect fast speeds most customers wont even realise the new spectrum until they read upon it.

What mobile networks might do is cheeky is the current 5G huawei device cpe pro that they give if it does not support the new spectrum then that will mean less people using the new spectrum and boasting about oh we got the biggest chunk or biggest slice of spectrum.

Real 5G will be put to the test when 5G devices / routers become cheaper people can afford it. We then will see if it handle so many people on 5G network meaning your local mast can handle more people then on 4G hope it eliminate congestion that some 4G mast are facing.

We might face congestion issues on 5G it all depends on the right technology used network need to invest more in backhaul to provide a consistent service.

The Ofcom auction is for n28 700mhz, which the Mi 10T lite supports.

There are: Huawei's Pro2, ZTE's CPE, Netgear M5, TCL's LinkHub, MikroTik's Chateau 5G all do.

I seem to have a wee tick at B28 on my CPE Pro 2 Gavin.(y)

To be honest I wouldn't be wanting to rely on that for Broadband, once it's split between networks there won't be much to push bandwidth over.
Every little helps JitteryPinger.:giggle:

Just be aware B28 is not the same as n28... They've different technologies - 4G vs 5G - even though they share the same frequency.

It's also just occurred to me I don't think any of the band locking tools specifically lock 5G frequencies - I don't know actually know what happens if you disable the 4G 'B' band but are receiving 5G on that frequency if it does disable the frequency itself, regardless of technology, or just disables the 4G band from being used.

Well as there's not likely to be any 5G here soon, I won't even be able to experiment Gavin.:cautious:

Depends if you are able to get an EE signal - I hear they are planning/installing n28 capable hardware fairly widely, on the expectation they'll be securing some of the spectrum.

Edit: ...and use EE, and have an EE 5G enabled SIM

Update: Three customer service told me if you have requested the unlock then you are able to enter the unlock code on the 5G cpe pro once you get the unlock code.

To why its greyed out cant input anything they told me it will be greyed out until you get the unlock code sent to your email it won't be greyed out.

Dont know if this is true we'll see

I'm currently with three with the router, and Virgin (Vodafone) for my mobile, so no EE Gavin.

Be interesting to see the results of the auction.

Does Huawei mobile 5G hotspot support im thinking of getting that its cheap
I mean you could (should!) do your own research into something you wish to purchase to ensure its fit for your purpose...

But according to https://www.router-switch.com/huawei-5g-mobile-wifi-pro.html, assuming its the Huawei 5G Mobile WiFi Pro E6878-370 model you're thinking about, then no it doesn't support n28. It appears to be based on the same generation of Balong 5000 chipset as the original CPE Pro and external WIN models.

Why oh why isn't there a set standardisation for the use of mobile bands? What is the difficulty with manufacturing something that is capable of utilizing any available band on a mast?

Hmanager can lock 5G frequencies.

I thought it might, but I guess it's possibly hard to tell if the command it sends to the router then actually locks the 4G/5G band, or if it blocks/allows the frequency.
Thinking about it more, it might be possible to test with Huawei Pro2 (B1/n1 capable) and with Vodafone where they have DSS deployed to see what happens when setting B20+B1 vs B20+n1. If B20+B1 still connects to 5G too (or B20+n1 goes 4G+) then it's the frequency that's being allowed/blocked, not the 4G/5G band itself.
