5G mast would add 'imposing modern element' to Haworth | Bradford Telegraph and Argus

To be fair though, there are so many different mast designs. I don’t think anyone can complain about how masts look. I mean they could have a tree style mast. Not a very pretty tree, but you get the point, there are ways.

The problem is an arbitrary opinion on what constitutes an eyesore. Example, no 5G mast .. bad. But stick 1960s commieblocks everywhere? that's fine.

No 5G mast, but 4 McDonalds drive thrus with their loud teenagers and litter everywhere. Mind you our town has the distinction of having a swimming pool that "looked like Chernobyl" (slight exaggeration there)
and guess what, this is a council run facility. So again, it's NIMBYism. They can stick up horrid blocks, build children's play areas that look like a dystopian future prison, put drive thrus everywhere, but a 5G mast? nonono.

Replace council with AI please. Think of the savings, and zero chance of Karen the councillor objecting because she secretly thinks 5G will cause her to grow onions on her eyelids.

Spotted on FB.

Unsurprisingly the majority of the "Objection sent" replies are from older folk and stay at home mums.

Without wanting to sound condescending, they are probably bored and have nothing better to do. Same with every village across the land. Check out the average age of your typical parish council…

I just like how it started with "We understand that progress is needed" , followed by a big rant about how they don't want it. Yeah they probably are bored, but I'm facing the exact same situation around here. New mast? waaah we don't need it. Ok maybe grandpa on his 2G phone doesn't need it, but the rest of us would like it. Unfortunately for me MBNL just literally gave up after the local council refused permission on the one close to me.

PC's think they have outsize influence, they generally don't, but planners pay them lip service.

However my direct experience of planners in this country is pretty woeful to be honest - whether that's town (London) or country (Suffolk). Abysmal.

Christ almighty.. It runs deep.
If only they could put the same energy in better things that actually matter..
That's what i've been thinking, how do they have the time, some kind of intelligence to setup and write all of this, and spend it doing this? They are having some kind of impact, clearly by the amount of applications they celebrate being rejected

Ironically, I guess the same could be said for those of us that want it.

See lots of these stop 5G news stories and groups being shared, but I've never seen a "More 5G" group promoting it and those people spamming the applications with support.

Well, yeah, because we have lives, jobs, kids, things to do. Also, it takes a certain niche of people to go into these groups which I like to think it's not us at all.

Also, it's one thing replying to ispreview from the toilet in the morning, but another one to engage and manage in organised *something*, promote it etc.

@Andy199 do you want a dedicated website behind it, like talk3g used to be for 3g until 2012:
