5G mast would add 'imposing modern element' to Haworth | Bradford Telegraph and Argus

If you try to speak to the people running it all they will do is send you links to wordpress websites with free themes that all say the same thing and its peer reviewed by another random wordpress website, they cannot tell you anything else than "peer-reviewed studys show its harmful" and then link you to some random website, perfect example of one of these people was in the comments to Marks article on 5G safety on this website, reading how these people talk will just give you a headache

Turtles all the way down :)

Ironically, I guess the same could be said for those of us that want it.

See lots of these stop 5G news stories and groups being shared, but I've never seen a "More 5G" group promoting it and those people spamming the applications with support.
I do this. I always write in support of masts when I see an application. I mean don't get me wrong, if they stuck one slap bang in the middle of the national park behind us I'd probably say no. But if they want to replace the old 15m monopole with a new 20m one? sure yes!

Oh that's not a problem, just asking the old friend who owns talk3g if they would be looking to resurrect as talk5g.

There's only 15 of us left from that old 3g fanatics group.
was thinking to start a forum on mobile stuff. I like ISPReview but i'd allow sales/swaps of equipment on it. I understand why Mark doesn't want to though and would continue to post here as well.

I'd join that, but at the same time I think we'd be spreading ourselves a bit too thin and perhaps risk lose what we have here.

Funny how three always like to put their PoW's where there's a traffic cone.

Sadly this was my traffic cone.😭

I mean at least they are willing to let people discuss support as well as objections. The FB post I mentioned I got banned from because I dared to say that they were a tad hypocritical for saying they support progress just as long as it's not in their own back yard and that some people want mobile connectivity .. nope , how dare I have a different opinion

not sure, that's probably the hardest part of the entire thing. But It wouldn't be entirely 100% mobile stuff. I'd quite like a good linux / programming forum too. There's the general section in here but well this is primarily an ISP forum so I guess many people come here for just ISP related things, and well a lot of them are questions about some problem then they vanish after they get an answer :/ . I used to enjoy digital forums for a while, until the owner banned me (I worked for him, and he diddled me out of several hundred £££ then banned me). Anyway, I doubt i'd manage to attract many visitors so probably not worth bothering too much about 🤷‍♂️

Exactly, alas.. I really do miss the old tech/Linux forums of old, not sure where they disappeared. I guess the people grew up and life got in the way.. .or social media fried their brains.

Plus, re forums, with the online safety shite bill you risk going to jail if a kid looks funny at some mikrotik on your site and gets a boner.
It's pretty surreal.

I'll just host it in Japan hahah. Or one of them countries that has actual real free speech. But yeah honestly, decent moderation goes a long way. But I do really value this forum (hence why I spend so many waking hours on it) because it has a userbase that isn't as toxic as say reddit/twitter/FB etc. That's pure gold honestly.

Safety bill is going nowhere. And if it does, well, VPN for you and you and you.

I mean if it were a case of what it was actually set out to do, then it's laudable. Unfortunately we all know that $present_gov wants to do away with your privacy, and encryption not because "won't someone think of the children" but because they want to know everything you do. We're literally the country that invented spying, and runs the largest spying network in the world. Even Snowden says that ECHELON and all the other fancy NSA codewords are basically about knowing what everyone everywhere does and (am I gonna get in trouble for this ???) espionage.

My nearby application actually has about 10 or so supporting comments, surprisingly, although about 15-20 objecting but only on groundless “it is bad for health” which isn’t considered when the mast is within limits as far as I know, so it looks like the NIMBYs are going to lose this one :)
