Hi
Broadband is poor in my area, so we’ve moved to ee unlimited sim (12months). Current equipment is TP-Link TL-MR6400 300mbps 4g router, which then Ethernets into my Deco M4 mesh network.
Speeds currently are circa 35mbps down and anywhere between 10 and 49mbps upload! RSRP is -92dbm, RSRQ is -10dbm, SNR 12.4db
All fine give or take some issues with my work’s vpn, which occasionally finds 4g ping flakey enough to disconnect. Anyway that’s a side issue.
I ended up moving to ee on my iPhone, and whilst I’m not getting 5g signal, I am getting 100+ mbps download in the same spot on 4g.
So got me thinking that the router might not be decent enough spec to get higher speeds.
I bought an 5g Huawei H112-370, (which when working) was producing 100+ mbps. Result!
However, it didn’t work well with my Deco mesh, which I can’t change. The Ethernet was the issue - seems to be a known fault, believe it’s to do with Ip4 and ip6, but gave up doing more research as it was intermittent in sorting it out. It’s gone back.
So after all that…looks like a 5g router is a good investment to get higher speeds. So I’d like a decent 5g router that will plug and play with Deco - any recommendations?
Thanks
Jack
