5G SA N48?

Hi, was using LTE Discovery app before and noticed "5G NR SA N48" as a neighboring cell? I can't select this band on my phone and don't know why it's there. I'm on a galaxy S20+ 5G. Surely it's not there since they can't broadcast SA 5G yet?

Interesting.

n48 (CBRS) standalone band 3550 to 3700 MHz allocated in US for Citizens Band E2E. Could be someone trialling kit (officially or not) and your modem chip/Discoverer is picking this up (or possibly misinterpreting).

n402350 - 2390 MHzTDDTelefonica (O2)
n783410 - 3460 MHzTDDVodafone
n783460 - 3480 MHzTDDH3G (Three)
n783500 - 3540 MHzTDDTelefonica (O2)
n783540 - 3580 MHzTDDEE
n783580 - 3680 MhzTDDTHREE
n783680 - 3720 MhzTDDEE
n783730 - 3800 MhzTDDTelefonica (O2)

Is appears to be at the very top of the EE allocation and well above THREE.

Could it be a reflection?

Interested to see if it continues.

the only 5G in my area is from 3, however EE is in the next village over. it says SIM 1 (which is 3) so is 3 doing some weird 5G stuffs do you think?

edit: no one can recieve EE 5G in my village, it did occur to me though it could be my phone picking that up slightly but I'm not sure

It'll just be the database that the app is using for the lookup and incorrectly labelling it as an American SA band - NRARFCN 640548 is Three's 100MHz bearer.

Apps are only as good/accurate as the people who develop them/the data they use

Ahhh ok, that does make sense

Many areas have small implementations of 5G SA which are run by local councils. They used to operate in the spectrum you mentioned and are often used by local businesses to test innovations such as connected vehicles and IoT devices. See here for an example. If you see an SA network you can't connect to, this will likely be it. They also use N77 spectrum (they have been moving away from N78 since more 5G rollout has happened).

3630Mhz? Im just testing out a 5G router now since a nearby B1+B3 (joint EE/Three) site appeared to have been visually upgraded. While I cannot make out for certain the cell ID for the 5G, the anchor 4G is showing as this said site on B1. Looking at the signal levels I would imagine it's this site. One thing I have noticed is that the 5G connection is not permanent, for a very short interval I get disconnected. I cant confirm if that's still the case during heavy DL demand, just about to check up on that.
