A 3 Pole of Wonder

Is that place as good as Google Maps makes it look? I'm tempted to head up myself
Yes and more jon1, it's a duplicate of the Highlands, quite amazing. :cool: 🥰

@PB2000

I was in Kilmarnock yet again and thought I'd pop up for a nosey at the half built PoW.

Three must still be looking in their bits n bobs antenna cupboard, still not found any spare 5G antennas for Tourhill Road.:(

How long has it been in limbo now? :rolleyes:

I think it went up a couple of years ago so it will probably start to rust before it goes live.

Meanwhile just along the road in Galston the PoW there was doing just fine at between 500Mbps and 600Mbps indoors.

Cor blimey that's a bit long. (As the actress said to the bishop)🤭
Oh that's not bad at all.👍

The green cabinet isn't OCD friendly PB2000. :rolleyes:
I can't ever go back to Galston until they paint it grey. :giggle:

Only half finished, im guessing it's currently giving out 2.5G until they add the other 2.5G to make it 5G🤓

@The Wee Bear do you use any fixed wired boardband or just the four 5G routers?

Hi jmngonline, just the routers, oh and it's actually 5, but the 5th is just for all the Echo devices, cameras and smart plugs etc. :rolleyes:

It's the EE NR5103 router on the bottom that I use for all the trash.:giggle:

They've all served me well for years now.🥰

Good stuff👍

I'm guessing the O2 one gives out the slowest speed...

Winner winner chicken dinner, you guessed correctly jmngonline. 😊
(EE is the best speed wise for me) (y)

@PB2000
Thought I'd do a wee detour seeing I was close by to see if anything had changed with the Tourhill Road PoW.
Alas no, we're still topless. (OOH LA LA!) 🤷‍♂️ :(

One of those Phase 8 poles that's not omnidirectional. Sadly it doesn't appear to be live yet. Mogden Lane, Twickenham.

It's not often you see a PoW looking like that hassaanhc, it looks very odd, as if one side of antennas just dropped off. 😊

What does omnidirectional mean
BRITISH DICTIONARY DEFINITIONS FOR OMNIDIRECTIONAL
DEFINITION FOR OMNIDIRECTIONAL (1 OF 1)
adjective
  1. (of an antenna) capable of transmitting and receiving radio signals equally in any direction in the horizontal plane.

I meant what does it mean for a layman, that has gone completely over my head

It means it's only transmitting and receiving signals in the directions where the antennas are facing.

It isn't transmitting 360 degrees like most Three monopoles do.
