Still checking everyday on forthcoming roadworks folks, but not a peep so far, fingers crossed for a reappearing three pole of wonder erection crew after the new year.

Recently saw EE pop up in my area for a local pole, only thing in the description was "commhoist02" dissapeared now though.Still checking everyday on forthcoming roadworks folks, but not a peep so far, fingers crossed for a reappearing three pole of wonder erection crew after the new year.
I'm quite surprised at North Ayrshire councils recent 3 poles of wonder refusals, Dalry, Irvine, Saltcoats, Stevenston have all been knocked back, latest application is for Dreghorn, we'll see how that goes.Recently saw EE pop up in my area for a local pole, only thing in the description was "commhoist02" dissapeared now though.

All are towns near me, so I think one of the permission deciders on the council must be from my town of Kilwinning, either that or my letter of encouragement worked.
So annoying that my pole of wonder got approved with no conditions, and they vanished because of 4 days of constant rain 2 days after they started their work.
With all these refusals, you'd think they would be only to happy to get on with my pole installation.
Yeah that would be great Gandi69.All gone quiet my end too, one unfinished new mast without 5g antennas and the dormant one closest to me that’s been there quite literally 12 months to the day.
It would be nice if Three’s 5g rollout/coverage map had planned works like Vodafone’s does
oh look at that. a 3POW, in front of an industrial estate.Just sharing a video with you folks, another short video from Peter C about 3 Poles of Wonder. (And some other 3 related info too)
Video Here
Hope it's of interest to someone.
It is extremely frustrating. As you know from my posts, it's very similar here. Local council have denied more than 3/4 of the 5G mast applications. Usually with frivolous reasons. I can't fathom their desire to block telecoms masts. In my view, they should not have that competency and the telcos should be able to drop a mast somewhere without requiring permissions.Oh dear, North Ayrshire Council have just refused permission for the latest pole of wonder application. (Dreghorn)
That's only 2 out of 7 applications that have been approved.
Poor three.
Only my own here in Kilwinning and one in Irvine have been approved.
I'm sure you all know the story about mine, and their disappearing act, still nothing showing on the future roadworks website so far.
I must pop over to the Irvine site soon and see if if anything is happening there.
Roadworks were listed there recently, so it may well have been started now.
Big frustrated sigh.
Yes indeed dabigm, it's extremely annoying, I remember reading somewhere online that councils in Scotland were way ahead in approval rate with 5G masts compared to the rest of the UK, I'm beginning to wonder now after all the latest NAC refusals. It is extremely frustrating. How is it openwretch can stick their giant ugly telephone poles wherever they like and they only have to give notice, not ask permission. I have complained to DCMS about it. Their response was they were going to make it easier and give more permitted development rights .. but they're still being denied here. Thankfully three has done a deal with a very tall building near me and now I have decent 5G. Because before Bedford council flat out refused a 3POW at the end of my street.
Something really needs to be done about this. Otherwise we are doomed to repeat the failures of 3G/4G where we have poor signal and poor speeds and less affluent countries have faster cheaper service.
Not to rub it in but civil groundworks were completed 2 weeks ago on what will be my nearest pole of wonder (though still a couple of miles away from home) and now the pole installation works are planned for the end of FebOh dear, North Ayrshire Council have just refused permission for the latest pole of wonder application. You lucky old sausage Gavin. Not to rub it in but civil groundworks were completed 2 weeks ago on what will be my nearest pole of wonder (though still a couple of miles away from home) and now the pole installation works are planned for the end of Feb
I'm lucky where I am, Bradford council LOVE three. There's 3 poles of wonder within 4 miles of each other near Chellow heights. They are everywhere and me and my S20+ are loving it.Something will have to happen eventually if all these national targets are to be met surely?
Some councils are worse than others and some aren't fussed at all.
As usual that sounds exactly right Gavin, there was a very large cabinet on the right which somehow looked extra new, but I did have a feeling it was empty, it still had a client delivery sticker on it.You decided to go see it then
My guess is that they'll have enabled the ULI but not actually the 5G bearers (which is why speedtest will report LTE, but your phone status shows 5G). I would guess because they're waiting on backhaul.
I'd also guess that they're awaiting fibre backhaul and they've left the old pole up to save them from needing to move the MW backhaul to the new one mast, for it to then become redundant - they'll probably just fibre it up and then remove the old pole when done.
Yes that's the one Gavin, it just looks very new, but I guess it isn't after looking at your streetview piccy. On the right of that photo?
Compared to streetview, only the pole of wonder the stuff to the left of that (closest to the camera) is new - doesn't mean they havent re-used the old cabinets or are leaving them there while the backhaul gets sorted out.
I wouldn't rush back in just weeks, perhaps leave it longer - it could be a long while before backhaul is installed!
