A couple of things I'm looking for

Well, I've been digging through the net looking for ISPs all day; and I've gotta say, it's hell.

My exchange is currently being upgraded for ADSL Max (Plymouth, if you're curious), so I'm considering switching from BT (Plus BT sucks ;))

I don't suppose anyone can recommend an ISP that offers 8Mb, uncapped transfer, the 800Kb upload, no blocked ports, and no traffic shaping (I need full speed on bittorrent etc.)? Personally, I've had no such luck...

It's not even that they're just too expensive, I can't find anything. Why does this country seem so obsessed with controlling my internet connection...

Hi FluffyCubed

Its not so much this country but the copyright laws from America and the fact that they are now making people in this country fall inline and making ISPs hand over details so they can prosicute those who download and share copyrighted material.

Do you actually realise what the costs would be to an ISP providing you with that kind of service? Far more than you'd be prepared to pay for a start!

Basically you want a clean 8meg connection you can max out on bit torrent with the office upload rate on a residential package? Maybe you should consider a leased line...

It's hardly impossible, f2s used to do it...

I can afford to put cash into my net connection, I'm willing to go for a business connection if required. However, details seem to be sparse on ISPs' websites, and those I can find any info on also seem to do the ludicrous things moving around at the moment...

Also, who said anything about copyrighted material? There are other things that can be done with p2p...

Hi,

Our ADSLMAX8000 Biz package does this at £39.95+vat per month.

Please bear in mind the 8Mb and 832Kbps speeds are maximum and the service is rate adaptive depending on line quality, distance from exchange etc...
