Saw this on LinkedIn the other day and think the video is worth a watch, both as a lesson in network security and as a piece of comedy. But keep in mind that it's possible this may be one of those 'faked to look real' videos that people sometimes create as a spoof.

Yeah it's been on Tik Tok for a while, not sure if it's real or not. 😊

The same guy does a similar thing where someone is using his Tesla charger and there was a third one. Guy either has a lot of freeloaders or its on purpose, I think I know what I believe.

It does look like a spoof comedy video to me although working in ICT and Cyber Security nothing surprises me anymore 😂

It’s defo worth checking your WiFi settings:
-Ensure you have a strong password set does not have to be complex use the three random words rule.
-Disable WPS as that can be cracked in less than 5 mins
-Set encryption to WPA2/3
- Setup a separate guest network where possible.
- keep an eye on connected clients for any unknown devices.

Totally wrong approach. Better to: "Lock the windows, close the door and seal the letterbox!"

These kinds of videos are all fake, like the ones with the people using your charger at your house. They are quite funny though, because similar situations probably do happen occasionally. A fun watch.

One of the giveaways for me was... who has WiFi without a password on it these days? Routers haven't been supplied that way for years, and anyone technically competent enough to log into their router and turn off WiFi security would be technically competent enough to know it's a bad idea.

There was a video doing the rounds a few years back from the USA featuring a woman outside someones house banging on the door demanding the new people who moved in give here the wifi password so she could use the wifi.
That vdeo looks ike its a scripted version of that encounter
