hi there. I just got the nildram500surf account. i recieved the welcome package with the xyzel modem and microfilter and waited for the activation date.
on the activation date i set up everything correctly but i couldn't get the modem to sync. the dsl light on it kept on flashing, in other words trying to connect. but it couldn't. i also have a 3com wireless router which wouldn't sync.
i called nildram support and we went through the usual steps. i put the modem on the first telephone socket coming into the house, unplugged all the other sockets. nildram tried to ping/contact it but couldn't. they tried a linecheck etc and everything seemed fine up to my house.
seeing as it's the first socket in house and i can see where it comes in from outside i think there is a problem with the drop-down bt cable coming from the telegraph pole next to my house. there is one part where some of the wire is expose without it's sheathing, i'm wandering if that could be the problem. anyone got any ideas?
