ADSL Keeps going down HELP?

Hello Peeps,

Im having so many problems with my adsl. PIPEX 512 . Speedtouch 330.

Right what happens.....

I used to have my adsl connection in my bedroom, that worked great, but the downside was that i had to pull the faceplate off the master socket and plug my filter in the BT whole and this worked fab with no problems, seems strange doesnt it, that I have to use the BT wires under the faceplate, I have the same problesm as below if used the normal way. I got a phone guy out to check my lines and he said they are all fine and done a bit of work with the cabling as BT are crap for this, well in my area they are. Hes tested the line and its fine and works great. Ive now transfered my adsl in my shed thats outside, got a phone cable out there great. Phone works well. I have filters on every stocket. I have 3 extensions. Once i got my pc out in my shed all was well untill my adsl connected up with the exchange and then after a few mins it disconnected (ADSL light flashing) didnt think much off it, so wated for it to connect up again, discounted just I connected to the internet. I was going to do a few tests, so what i did is. Uninstalled modem (speedtouch 330), took out USB. Rebooted, installed software, put the ADSL modem in a new USB port that hasnt been used before. I unplugged everything on every socket and just left the filters in. Still same problems. I also tryed my modem and filters round a mates house to see if they where faulty, worked fine and then we tryed his modem and filters round mine and same problems as before. Im stuck really, as i dont get in untill after 8pm at night and thats the time PIPEX support closes. The next time i can call them is the weekend, but i need my adsl :(

If anyone has had the same problems or can help, please HELP a lad thats going mad with this.

I thank you for reading and hope you can help.

It definately sounds like you have something running off the master socket which is causing too much noise and messing up the ADSL signal, as plugging into the BT socket behind the faceplate eliminates any extensions off the master socket.

You'll need to disconnect anything plugged into the rest of the extensions and try again ... also do you have an alarm/panic button connected to the telephone line, is this filtered?

Thanks for a reaply, The other funny thing is that all the wires go directly into the main box thats out the front of the house, thats the one that goes to the BT pole, my lines are so old, they are pre-war ones I think lol. 2 of the sockets are the old style BT logo ones. The old master socket used to be in another bedroom upstairs, but that changed when i had homehighway and thats where I got the new style flace plate on the new cable for my homehighway, thats also in the box out the front. I dont have a panic thing/alarm.
