Adslmax Enabled And How Long To Wait ?

When BT had enabled all exchanges on Friday, 31st March 2006 for adslmax up to 8mb speed. But, the really question is how long do we have to wait for our line to be upgrade and activated live of adslmax ???

1) April 7-14
2) April 15-22
3) April 23-30
4) May
5) June
6) July
7) August
8) September
9) October

I reckon I will get my adslmax up to 8mb upgrade on my line in May 2006. I don't think no one won't get adslmax not until after the 1st week of BT enabled all exchanges. I think BT will be very busy and probably will bring extra staffs to cope with all pre-orders for all isp's adslmax upgrade. Possibly up to 100 orders a day.

I don't know how many pre-order that BT can activated and upgrade speed per day ???

I hope all exchanges with adslmax will be successful and not face alots of teething problems. I wouldn't hold my breathe.

Good luck to everyones with adslmax on Friday. :) I hope it all completed pre-orders before November 2006 or Xmas 2006.

Its unknown yet how many exchanges will not be ready on Friday, plus its dependant upon your ISP allowing you to pre-order anyway... For me with eclipse, adsl max is not really worth worrying about at the mo as they're bound to be a couple of months behind. Good for me as I can sit back and watch everyone else's teething troubles before upgrading lol

Phill makes a very good point about not being the guinea pigs. Look at the LLU shambles, I'm guessing the failure right is a lot higher than the ISP's would have envisaged.

I've run a few searches on SamKnows now, and there seems to be a pattern of the less popular exchanges getting updated first. I've seen a few exchanges with less than three thousand connections with an upgrade status of Green; whereas some of the larger ones (Seven to ten thousand customers) are only set at an amber state.

It'll be interesting to see how this works out.

I already know that Jason will send adslmax pre-order on Friday but it doesn't mean we will getting adslmax on Friday, probably will be ready by May - that what I think the most available for me. If it was early before May, great - that a bonus !!! I expecting all adslmax will be a teething problem during the 1st six months before it all settle down.

Quoted from adslguide:
We should point out a common story at present, and that is as soon as your exchange is enabled for the new Max services that all lines will move onto that product. This is incorrect, BT Wholesale has no program to move everyone onto a Max service, it is true that some service providers may automatically order regrades as soon as they can for a customers line. We would hope that when a provider automatically orders a Max regrade it will inform the customer, or even better give them a chance to opt out of the regrade.

Dont forget as from the 31st march, the BT broadband checker gets updated with the adsl max details.
