ADSLMAX up to 8mbps (not 100% maximum speed depend on distance)
TELEWEST CABLE up to 10mbps (100% maximum speed)
NTL CABLE up to 10mbps (100% maximum speed)
BE LLU up to 24mbps (not 100% maximum speed depend on distance)

So, adslmax is out now since March 31st 2006, but many peoples cannot get a maximum 8mbps speed plus a problem lately with most speed still capped to old speed before adslmax. Would you prefer to stick with adslmax or would seriously think of switch over to telewest, ntl or be rather than adslmax.

Next question would be monthly quotas?......
Whats the AUP in the TnC's?

And can cable really guarentee the full rate?

No cable cannot gurentee full speed. There is contention on cable aswell and at times my 2mb connection has pings over 200 to a london games server with all the problems on the NTL network.

I shall abstain from voting. :D

Adsl max - is too new, I haven't got it yet, so I've not yet formed an opinion on it.
Telewest - can't get this.
NTL - or this! :(
BE LLU - or this even! :(

What is this obsession with getting, for example, ADSL Max ? I'm seeing forums where people are already complaining that they haven't yet got 8 Mbits. What kind of traffic do they have per month where 8 Mbits would be a huge advantage over 2 Mbits ? Other posters seem to think that ADSL Max will transform their 1 Mbit line into an 8 MBit line (or something similar). For me 2 Mbits is fine and the interesting part of ADSL Max is not the download but the potential upload rate. As you might guess I'm voting "Not bothered.".

True enough Bob2002, well said.
I vote not bothered at the begin of this thread. I can't get LLU. I can't get NTL nor Telewest.

Im moving to an ntl area.

As for ntl been upto and been max 100% THIS IS TRUE! It depends who first layed the cable, on the area im moving to it was diamond cable and is ment to be one of the best for cable in the UK with users (2 i asked) on 10mb getting nothing less then 1.1MB/s - 1.3MB/s all day long! One person download a torrent (wont say what or where) which was 720MB and took about 7 minutes! And pings very low!

So i voted that - I HAVE HAD IT WITH BT and the 50:1 crap and upto etc.. I hate it :(

Hi TeleFragX

I have been on NTL cable for the last 6 yrs and it can be good at times but as all NTL customers find out sometime there is always some times when things go pearshaped and NTL are not at their best in the support department.

well I'm sticking with Bulldog as I can upgrade to ADSL2+ tomorrow (10 day wait tho after order but it should be worth it :D)

i voted not bothered because i live in the sticks and max can only give me 2 meg wich i now have and cable/ntl and be/llu will never come here because they will not invest money in to a network that wont pay them back so bit of a pointless vote for me.

what i think should be done is all of the isp,s in this country made to invest in a sustainable future proof network ftth for example then we will not have the digital divide
