Advice on SIM for MIKROTIK LHG series CAT6 LTE outdoor wireless router LHGG LTE6 kit.

Sorry new to this forum so please direct me if this info is already available.

After struggling with Broadband I've ordered a MIKROTIK LHG series CAT6 LTE outdoor wireless router LHGG LTE6 kit.

I have line of site to a Vodafone mast 3.2km and also Three at 4km.

1 Can I put a regular sim or do I need to go for a dedicated "Data SIM"?
2 On Vodafone is there any difference for me between the "Unlimited" & "Unlimited MAX" as I will only be using 4G?
3 How would Lebara compare with Vodafone speeds.
4 If I went for the Three mast, is there any difference between Three, ID

Any other advice or comments welcome
Many thanks

You can use any SIM and if they stop you, that's against the law. It will be cheaper to buy a phone sim and just not use the minutes.
2 On Vodafone is there any difference for me between the "Unlimited" & "Unlimited MAX" as I will only be using 4G?
Unlimited lite is limited to 2Mbps, Unlimited is limited to 10Mbps and Unlimited max has no speed limit but has a bug for some people where the speed is limited to 15Mbps. If you go for unlimited max just buy it and hope it doesn't have the bug.
3 How would Lebara compare with Vodafone speeds.
Lebara and Vodafone will have the same speeds as they are the same network. Lebara isn't speed capped.
4 If I went for the Three mast, is there any difference between Three, ID
Also the same network, no difference in speed. If you get three through a cashback site tho, people have been able to get Unlimited for as little as £3. Topcashback, HotUKDeals and Quidco are all good sites to use. Hope this helps :)

I don't think that router will be very good. If it's only CAT 6 you're limiting yourself on what kind of speeds you can get. B535 gives you Cat 7 and the B818 is great CAT 19.

You may not need an outdoor router or an antenna at all. Best to try without first.

There's no real big difference between CAT 6 and 7. 7 just brings the possibility of upload carrier aggregation - they're both maximum 300mbps down, whereas CAT6 only has 50up, 7 has 100up.
As always the devil is in the details and using a device that matches what the provider has got deployed is key to make the most of their network.

It's likely that more expensive devices will usually have had more development and likely are of a higher CAT category and also may could contain more sensitive/tuned antennas to help pick up signal better, however more signal doesn't necessarily translate to more throughput.
