Not sure if anyone can advise on contacts within Openreach where i can chase up the build project for my area?
The project was done across 3 villages which i would imagine would go into around 300-400 homes who all pledged via the voucher scheme.
The project was meant to have been completed in May 2022. This was extended after this build date wasn't met.
I'd say at the moment, a good majority of the homes have been connected.
The frustration for myself in particular is that the current copper wiring is connected to a pole that serves 5 homes. That pole then connects to another which is located in someones back garden.
So i've been continually told since May that the engineers need to put some scaffolding up around the pole located in someone's garden. Was told it would be weeks.
The voucher expiry date was pushed back to Sept. And the last update i had was commissioning date was expected to be from 31st Aug 22.
That i cannot see happening. I was only just told that they need to get permission to put the scaffolding up. Why this wasn't sorted months ago i don't know.
But it seems like a constant dragging of the heels.
To add, of the 5 homes connected to the pole. Only 2 of us have signed up via the voucher.
Can Openreach realistically keep pushing dates back?
But more importantly. Who can i contact within Openreach so that i might get some answrers.
As i've pointed out to my local councillor who has headed this up with our local MP. That i have been holding back on taking out new Sky contracts or mobile provider contracts is that i can get a decent offer from them. But working from home is currently a struggle when we're all on a 4g connection and kids who like gaming online and a partner who likes watching programmes via streaming services.
