Amazon blocks Phorm

That's as good as you can expect from a commercial site - actually blocking IPs of ISPs associated with Phorm would lose them money, and a commercial site is unlikely to be interested in that idea, so fair enough.

I hope the other companies that were written to follow suit.

Witha bit of luck, Amazons smaller competitors such as Play.com will also feels forced to do the same thing as well.

I'm not sure that "forced" is the right word, I'd hope they'd twig that permitting Phorm to gather targeting data about their customers was against their own commercial interests (as well as potentially undermining their own privacy policy).
