As I've been in the market for a mid-range GPU since building my new PC in February I got a bit excited to See the newly released 6600XT might just fit the bill.
Checking out Gamers-nexus review, MEH! just sums it up nicely. (Props to GN for the gigabyte exploding PSU segment!)
Unfortunately AMD like Nvidia has decided to go the "we'll know its a mid-end card but we'll price it high-end anyway" route. So now you've got literal mid-end cards arriving at the "distributors" and they whack another 25-50% on the RRP price because "availability".
So your options are go for a 2014 GeForce 710, onboard APU graphics, get ripped off finding a 3 year old card twice its RRP on ebay or stick with what you have. Other than that you're looking at spending £400+.
AMD's own shop laughably has two card for £1500 or its April 2018 launched Radeon RX 550X for £212.39!
There is literally a gaping hole in the graphics card market with no mid-tier graphics cards available in 2021 and thats because AMD and Nvidia want it that way. Whatever happened to the vanilla RX6600????
Roll on 2022.....i think.
